Notice of Acclimation > New Board Member

The deadline for receiving nominations for candidates in the upcoming election of directors was September 5, 2017. There were five positions to be filled on the Board. As of the deadline, five qualified candidates were nominated.

The inspector of election has determined that the number of qualified candidates is not more than the number of positions on the Board to be filled. With this election being an uncontested election voting by secret ballot is not needed per the Davis Stirling Act.

We are pleased to announce that the following individuals have been declared elected to the 2017-2018 Board of Directors: Nita Thom, Kat Bentley, Rao Charagondla, Kevin Shrapnell and Kristina Hudelson.

We are so excited to welcome Kristina to the Highland Oaks Board! Kristina has been a resident of Highland Oaks for over 11 years and has a natural passion and heart for community and connection.

'As a member of Highland Oaks for almost 11 years, I have seen the community demographic change. With younger families moving into our neighborhood the Board's focus and organization has had to change. I believe the current board is doing a fantastic job of updating communications, maintaining more transparency, creating efficient procedures and better bringing residents together as a community. I feel that now the first time I've had a desire to join the Board because there's more opportunity to connect with and increase participation in our community. I think this is an exciting time to join with the anticipated renovations to the pool area, the addition of our new management company and the use of technology to inform our members of goings-on. I believe my legal background as well as my link of residency in Highland Oaks will be a beneficial to the board I am excited by the idea of contributing to the board during such an Innovative time and I welcome the opportunity to meet and work for and with our neighbors so we all feel a sense of welcoming and investment in our community. Thank you for your time and consideration.'
